For a long time I have enjoyed photographing the detail of nature. The patterns and colours that are found in tree barks and moss or lichen covered stones are more vibrant and varied than might be expected. I either use the photos to inspire works or print them on fabric so that they can be enriched with hand embroidery. I find these works lend themselves well to my creative freestyle hand embroidery.
